Agile PLM 9.3.6: Here’s What You Need To Know

Agile PLM 9.3.6 enables smooth management of product quality, reliability, sales, and costs. It helps businesses unlock great value by reducing time to market, enhancing user experience, and streamlining operations through automation.

Because of its usefulness;

Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) Market size stood at USD 16.76 Billion in 2018 is expected to reach USD 26.73 Billion by 2026, exhibiting a CAGR of 6.3% during 2019-2026 (Fortune Business Insights).

However, to bring the best out of the software and its new features, businesses need to upgrade to the latest version. The newest version offered by Oracle, Agile PLM 9.3.6 offers enhanced user and admin experience, more customizations and improved product collaboration.

This guide will list the best features offered by the newest version that enhance performance, accelerate the timeline, improve security, and minimize risks for businesses.

Seamless User Experience:

Upgrading to Agile 9.3.6 lowers the risk of processing errors and automates time-consuming activities. A seamless user experience boosts overall productivity and leads to higher customer satisfaction rates for businesses. Version 9.3.6 offers improvements in these areas in terms of user experience:

Edit Icon for Saved Search:

In versions prior to 9.3.6, users needed to execute ‘Saved Searches’ before editing them. The new version offers an edit button that allows users to modify ‘Saved Searches’ without executing them.

Routed Date in Workflow Routings Tab:

The previous version did not include a routed date in the tab. The new version incorporates this feature in the workflow tab. Also for routable objects, the routed date is the date an object entered a particular workflow status.

New Numeric Formats:

Prior to version 9.3.6, only two numeric formats were present. In 9.3.6, four additional numeric formats are added. Also, the upgraded system issues an error message if the numeric format entered does not match the valid format defined.

Reviewer Signoff conflict:

The previous versions didn’t include the mechanism to resolve reviewer conflict. The new version includes a mechanism when an approver, acknowledger, or observer conflict appears.

If one user or user group is added as two roles of reviewers, a conflict arises. A resolve duplicate button is provided to resolve this issue. Also, the selected sequence of reviewers decides whether the user/ group should be added as approver, acknowledger, or observer.

Subscribe on File Actions:

The previous versions allowed subscriptions on a limited number of file actions. In Agile PLM 9.3.6, users can subscribe on different attachment opening operations, including Getfile, Openfile and Viewfile.

Attachment History Generation During Export:

Prior to 9.3.6, when a user exports an entire BOM and its attachments using PDX or aXML, export only writes a history record at the top level. There is no record of the export of the attachment itself.

In 9.3.6, a new smart rule controls if the user has written attachment export history for every level of the BOM that has an attachment exported. Also, the default is ‘No’ to keep the current behavior.

Administrator Experience:

Agile PLM 9.3.6 offers a powerful administrative experience through more control over PX visibility and PX cleansing. The enhanced administrator functionalities improve workflow, increase security, and lead to a better customer experience.

Control PX visibility:

Prior to 9.3.6, actions menu and tools menu PXs were available to all users irrespective of whether they have required roles to execute the PXs or not. Supplier users were only able to access PG&C PXs.

Agile 9.3.6 adds a new option, ‘User Role Required to See PX.’ The role defaults to ‘My User Profile’ for users of the home organization. The administrator can add specific roles to control who has PX visibility. Also, the user not having a specified role cannot see the PX in the actions or tools menu.

HTML Configuration File for PX cleansing:

Agile 9.3.4 added HTML sanitizer that clears out HTML tags that are not in a predefined list. But customers demand additional HTML tags.

In 9.3.6, properties file ‘AllowedHTMLTags.properties’ lists all of the allowed HTML tags. Customers can modify this file to include other allowed HTML tags. For security reasons, there is another property file, ‘ForbidHTMLTag.properties.’ Because of this property, customers cannot allow any of these forbidden tags.
